Kevin T. McCarthy
Since obtaining his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law Kevin T. McCarthy has devoted himself exclusively to representing accident victims.
He is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Academy of Trial lawyers with 27 years experience in trials, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations resulting in numerous multi-million dollar awards and settlements for his clients.
Mr. McCarthy is a tenacious investigator. Whether conducting an initial investigation of an accident or malpractice, consulting with experts, tracking down documents and witnesses, or taking depositions, he follows eachlead until we have every piece of evidence necessary to win.

He is admitted to all New York State Courts and the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Daniel C. Murphy
Daniel C Murphy received his law degree from the University of Cork, Ireland and then studied on his own for the New York Bar Exam. He passed the two-day exam on his first try.
He came to New York to seek a position where he would get to try accident cases for accident victims. That brought him to McMAHON | McCARTHY where he second seated Mr. McMahon during numerous trials. He quickly learned the skills necessary to successfully try cases and has been winning cases throughout NYC ever since.
He has also argued and won appeals.
Along with his lilting Irish broge, Mr. Murphy brought with him the gifts of story telling and the ability to connect with jurors for which his birth country are famous. In only a few years this has resulted in many verdicts and settlements for our clients, including verdicts of $4.2 million and $3.1 million in one year alone.
Mr. Murphy is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts and the Federal Court for the Southern District of New York.
He is fluent in the Irish language.

Matthew J. McMahon (Retired)
Matthew J. McMahon has been trying accident cases since 1984 in State and Federal Courts in New York and in State Court in Connecticut. In his roles as a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers and as publisher of the New York Torts Weekly, used by hundreds of accident and malpractice attorneys in the metropolitan area, he is recognized as a leader in the accident/malpractice law community.
He attended St. John’s University School of Law on a full academic St. Thomas More scholarship and was a member of the St. John’s Law Review.
Over the 37+ years he has been handling complex accident and malpractice cases at trial and on appeal, Mr. McMahon has obtained numerous million and multi-million dollar awards and settlements for his clients. Many of his cases have appeared in the New York Law Journal because of their unique precedents.
He has appeared on TV and Radio and published articles and books on law and politics.
A recipient of the New York State Bar President’s “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award” for his commitment to providing free service and information to the community, he continues to write free practical legal guides, lecture in the community, and provide pro bono representation in certain cases.
At the end of 2020 Mr. McMahon retired from McMahon | McCarthy. He will continue to give us the benefit of his decades of experience and knowledge of law but will not be representing any of our clients. We wish him the very best in his well deserved retirement.
Ayesha Pion
Ayesha Pion has been a paralegal with McMAHON & McCARTHY since 2012. She received her bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Chances are you will be seeing or speaking with Ayesha quite a bit during your case. Located at our Tremont Office, Ayesha schedules appointments for no-fault and defense doctor examinations, files and follows up on no-fault and workers compensation issues, including payment of medical bills and lost earnings.
In addition, she expedites vehicle property damage claims prior to the lawsuit (for which we do not charge a fee), scheduling depositions, and makes sure that we always have update medical treatment information and records that are absolutely necessary for trial and settlement.
